The Institute of Travel and Tourism, which came into being in 1956, is the only professional membership body for individuals employed in the travel and tourism industry; one of the largest trade sectors in the UK, the industry employs over 120,000 people. The Institute of Travel and Tourism is dedicated to developing and maintaining professional standards for the benefit of its members and the industry.
