The Chartered Insurance Institute is the UK's leading insurance body. So, not surprisingly, their Certificate in Financial Administration (CFA) is recognised throughout the financial services industry as the essential qualification.
If you're already working in financial services - perhaps as an administrator for a financial adviser, a bank or a building society - studying for the Certificate is a great way to broaden your knowledge, sharpen your skills and strengthen your promotion prospects.
If you're a new entrant, it could well open the door to your first job in financial services - by demonstrating both your knowledge and your commitment to potential employers.
What's more, your training programme has flexibility built in. Once you've completed module 1 of your course, which is designed to give you a solid grounding in all aspects of the financial services industry, you have a choice. You can select either a module on Life Offices Administration or a module on Pensions Administration, to suit your particular career path and interests.
By the end of your course you will be ready to sit and pass the exam for the Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate in Financial Administration. Depending on whether you chose to study Module 2A or Module 2B, you will be awarded either the Certificate in Financial Administration (Life) or the Certificate in Financial Administration (Pensions).

You will be asked to complete and submit a total of eight assignments during your course - six during Module 1 and four during Module 2A or 2B.
This will enable your personal tutor to keep a careful eye on your progress, offer helpful feedback, and ensure you're getting the very most from your training. There is also a 'mock' exam at the end of the course, the purpose of which is to familiarize you with the format of the actual CFI examination.
Your course is designed to allow you to learn at your own pace and in a logical way, with each new study unit building on the knowledge you will have gained in the earlier units.
You will be able to see for yourself how much progress you are making as you work through the material, Most students can complete this Chartered Insurance Institute within approximately 60 hours for Module 1, and approximately 40 hours of study for Module 2A or 2B.
You don't need to know anything about the subjects covered before you start. However, by the end of your course, you will have gained a broad and confident knowledge of all aspects of the financial services industry and the Chartered Insurance Institute.
