Our Tutors

All tutor support services are provided by either our dedicated tutoring team or in Scotland, STOW College.

Home Learning College employs trained tutors, each an expert in his or her field, with nationwide coverage. Committed to educational excellence and offering the highest quality of student support, our tutors are also accredited by the Open Distance Learning Quality Council.

As well as being qualified in their field, all tutors are trained and qualified distance learning tutors.

As part of the our commitment to the further professional development of tutors, all tutors undertake the BTEC advanced award in Tutoring Distance Learners. This demonstrates our ongoing commitment to self improvement and development and further strengthens the quality of support provided.

When a student enrols they will be assigned a tutor, who will mentor and support that student throughout their studies. Students can get to know their tutor and build trust and understanding, which underpins the achievement of educational success.

Tutors provide a high quality of communications both written and verbal. They are trained to help to understand issues and questions and answer in a way which is easy to understand and helpful.

In addition, tutors provide general study support – for example, if a student is experiencing difficulties with managing his time, the tutors are there to help by offering support and guidance.

Contact to tutors via phone, email and post, means that students benefit from having ready access to experts in their field, without having to spend time and effort travelling to lectures or seminars. Tutors can be contacted at any time  via FREEpost, email or telephone, and students can contact them as frequently as they choose.

How it works

• At the start of your course you will be assigned a personal tutor'
• You will have their name and will be able to speak to them, a real person not a machine, if you have a problem
• You can contact our tutors via telephone, email or FREEpost 
• All homework assignments you complete can be sent to them in the freepost envelopes we provide.
• You can email homework and other general correspondence to your tutor
• You can work through your course in your own time and at your own pace.
